A warm welcome, I am Eve McIntyre (EMDR Therapist, CBT Therapist & CBT Supervisor). I specialise in supporting with trauma, anxiety, chronic stress, and burnout in high-achieving adults.

The Unspoken Rules of Survival
Growing up, I developed rigid, internal rules to keep myself safe. The same rules many of us carry: put others first; achievement is the measure of worth & stay emotionally contained. Outwardly, I was the "calm, strong one" and always self sufficient. But inwardly, that independence was a shield. My internal world was private, overwhelming, and increasingly isolated. Even when I was "winning," I felt like a fraud waiting for the moment everyone would realise.
When "Pushing Through" Stops Working
For a long time, my strategy was to numb the stress out, work harder and push through exhaustion. In my late 20s, my body forced a change. A diagnosis of a chronic health condition meant that "numbing out" was no longer a viable option. I was confronted with the reality: the very strategies that had served me well were the ones breaking me down. I didn't just need to rest, I needed to learn how to fully recalibrate my rules and nervous system.
Finding the Middle Line
Through my own therapeutic journey, I discovered that life doesn't have to be lived in extremes. You don't have to choose between being high-performing and being healthy. If you walk "The Middle Line" both can be true, you can be:
-
Strong and Vulnerable: Feeling true strength includes acknowledging your limits and taking care of them.
-
Independent and Supported: Knowing that you are capable, but you no longer have to carry the weight of the world alone.
-
Achieving and At Peace: Finding a version of success that doesn't require you to abandon yourself.

I’f you can relate to this, I see you.
I can help you reset your own "survival rules" for a new way of living—one where you can walk your own middle line.

Experience & Accreditation
Experience
I bring over 14 years of therapeutic experience and over 9 years of supervision experience (PWP & CBT) from the NHS and private practice. Alongside my private practice I currently supervise trainee CBT therapists on the Post Graduate Diploma in CBT at the University of Reading.
Therapeutic and supervisory experiences have been rich, I am in awe of the clients and therapists I have worked alongside and forever grateful to have been part of their journey.
Accreditation
I am proud to be an accredited EMDR Practitioner (EMDR Europe Accredited), CBT Psychotherapist (BABCP Accredited) & CBT Supervisor (BABCP Accredited).
Accreditation requires significant clinical experience, specialist supervision, and demonstrated competence working with trauma (particularly for EMDR). It isn’t something therapists receive automatically after training — it reflects: time; depth; experience; accountability; ethical practice and commitment to ongoing development.
As a CBT supervisor, I also train and support other therapists in their clinical work. This means my practice is continually sharpened by staying close to best practice, reflection, and evidence-based care.
For you, this means:
-
You are working with someone experienced in both depth work and structure
-
Therapy is tailored — not one-size-fits-all
-
We can move at a pace that feels safe but meaningful
-
I know how to hold complex emotional material without rushing or overwhelming you
